“Where should I stay in San Francisco?”

You could do Airbnb. Why not? Many do. But it can be risky. And spotting the homeowner’s half-used Kirkland toiletries in the bathroom is always a deflating sight. For visitors who yearn for more top-drawer treatment, staying at one of San Francisco’s many hotels is a must. (Also good for locals who want to get away for the night without having to leave the 7×7-mile confines of the city.)

Only the best hotels have made this cut; though keep in mind, the list is presented in no particular order. The collection includes historical stunners like the Palace, the Fairmont, the Sir Francis Drake, the Obama-approved Intercontinental (one of several SF hotels with a presidential suite), the even the kitschy coolness at the Clift.

Places of Interest in San Francisco
The Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge is the most photographed attraction of San Fransisco. It has a scenic setup and attracts a ton of visitors every year, especially during evenings when its orange-colored structure is peaking through blue waters of San Fransisco Bay into the red horizon. This two mile long bridge connects San Francisco to other northern American cities. It had taken four years to complete it and the hard work took the form of the longest suspension bridge in the world then.

Fisherman’s Wharf
This is the first place to explore if you have only a couple of days to spend in San Fransisco. This place features foodcourt and supermarket of the city and offers an unforgettable experience of touring the area on a cruise. Of particular interest is the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park. It has a WW II submarine (USS Pampanito), which is considered an inseparable part of maritime history and a symbol of American victory against Germany.

Cable Cars
Cable Cars were introduced in 1873 AD as the eyes, ears and nose of San Fransisco due to their reach to all the four corners of the city, including the hills. The cable cars are the most perfect way to get to the best that the city has on offer – Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Nob Hill to name a few.
