“A twin-engine Piper aircraft went down in Lake Okeechobee while on approach to Pahokee Airport at approximately 3:30 p.m. today,” the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. “The flight departed from Tampa International Airport. The FAA is investigating. However, the National Transportation Safety Board will be in charge of the investigation and will release updates.”
JetBlue flight 1954 was en route from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in South Florida when a passenger gave birth to a baby boy, airline spokeswoman Tamara Young told Miami ABC affiliate WPLG.
A 2 year old child was injured after falling into a rhino exhibit Tuesday at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida.
Brevard Zoo said in an emailed statement to ABC News the child fell during the “Rhino Encounter,” a “hands-on, educational experience with Brevard Zoo’s white rhinoceroses.” It also added, “During the encounter, participants and the rhinoceroses are separated by a series of steel poles, according to witnesses, the child stumbled and fell in between two of the poles and at this point, the snout of at least one of rhinoceroses made contact with the child.”

Two hotels, a SpringHill Suites and a TownePlace Suites, did finally open in early 2016 but since then the development hasn’t seen much activity. Since Disney’s senior real estate manager Henry Thrash first confirmed in 2017 that the development was still in the works and about to be kicked into high gear, the area has seen a flurry of new permits: 2,600 apartment units are in the works for primary use by the Disney College Program, but most of the focus in this area will be on capturing budget travelers.
