It takes a village to stay on top — perhaps that’s why two of the world’s busiest metropolises shone so brightly on February 20 when Forbes Travel Guide announced the 61st edition of its annual Star Awards.
If you think of a trip to Europe as a tour of fancy capitals and important monuments, you need a vacation. To, like, a perfect secluded surf town in Portugal. Or a wine-soaked beach club in Italy. So skip Cape Cod this summer—it’ll be there next year (we hope)—and shock your system with a little bain de soleil, Euro-style.
Having received a not insignificant amount of the Atlantic Ocean up my nose and in my ears on that last wave, my mouth now tastes like a waterlogged sleeve of saltines. I pop my head out of the foaming surf (which is as crisp as that first chilled glass of Vinho Verde) to ride a very manageable wave toward the jagged cliffs. The sensation of standing up—I’m a beginner, all right?—is about as soul-nourishing as the buttery golden sauce they cook the clams in back in town. Let’s see, is that enough food metaphors? Tourists have been spotted flirting with death by dangling over the edge of a crumbling cliff — all just to take selfies.
The tourists were caught on camera playing on top of the dangerous chalk cliff edge 200 feet above jagged rocks at Seaford Head in East Sussex, in South East England.
Despite giant cracks, groups of tourists were spotted inching toward the edge of the limestone edifice, but thankfully police were on hand to give them a scolding….Click Here To Keep Reading
