Two skiers are in critical condition Thursday after they were buried in an avalanche at Taos Ski Valley resort in New Mexico.
Taos County Emergency Medical Services Chief Christopher Medina said the two skiers were “caught in an avalanche at Kachina Peak at Taos Ski Valley.”
“The ski patrol and nearby witnesses immediately responded to the scene and rescued two skiers who had been buried by snow.”
At 11:30AM today, an inbounds avalanche occurred on the K3 shoot off of Kachina Peak. Taos Ski Valley Ski Patrol immediately responded to the scene.
The trigger of the avalanche is unknown at this time but a full investigation of the incident and its cause will be conducted.
