16-year-old jumps off plane in Oklahoma City as he tries to avoid arrest by police

MARK OSBORNE, ABC News

Police at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma caught up with a teen wanted on a felony warrant Monday afternoon — they just had to chase him across the runway to do so.

According to the airport, when United flight 5706 landed in Oklahoma City at about 1:45 p.m. local time, a 16-year-old passenger on the flight from Houston ended up jumping off the plane to avoid arrest.

“He has a felony warrant out of Cleveland County, OK and was going to be picked up from the airport by deputies,” Will Rogers Airport said in a statement. “Apparently he knew he was going to be picked up and when getting off the plane, he jumped from the plane down to the tarmac and a foot chase by airline, airport and law enforcement took place.”

He was then taken into custody by Will Rogers police.

MSC Cruises

 Hannah Chubb, People

Virgin Voyages’ first cruise has yet to set sail — but the company is announcing already announcing a second ship!

The adults-only cruise line headed by billionaire Sir Richard Branson has announced that their second ship will be named “Valiant Lady,” and will sail three itineraries out of Barcelona, Spain starting in May 2021.

Unlike Virgin’s first boat, dubbed “Scarlet Lady,” which doesn’t set sail for the Caribbean until April 2020, Valiant Lady will be headed to Europe, making stops in France, Italy and Spain along the Mediterranean coast.

Each of the planned seven-night itineraries will board in Barcelona, just steps from Las Ramblas, and feature an included overnight in Ibiza before taking off on their respective journeys.

Airline pilot receives $300k for wrongful arrest after being seen naked near airport

Clark Mindock, The Independent

An airline pilot who was arrested after being spotted naked in his hotel room overlooking Denver International Airport has been awarded a $300,000 wrongful arrest settlement from the Colorado city.

The man, United Airlines pilot Andrew Collins, was arrested in September 2018, after employees saw him apparently touching himself through the 10th floor window of his hotel room.

But Mr Collins’ attorney, Craig Silverman, apparently successfully argued that it is not against the law to be naked inside a Denver hotel room. A report from Fox31 Denver indicates that the pilot was also unaware that he could be seen from the outside.

The charges against Mr Collins were dismissed by a judge in March.

But the arrest, even though it was dismissed, had complicated Mr Collins’ routine. He had been suspended for six months from his job, but has now returned to the skies.

“I have to explain this situation every day without fail,” he told local media.

But, he sees his legal win as a positive: “That’s how we protect our rights — by holding people accountable.”

Justin Chan, AOL.com

A female plane passenger took to Reddit this week to share a horrifying photo of a stranger performing a rude act during her flight.

The woman, who goes by WoodySoprano on the social media platform, posted an image of a traveler resting their bare feet on her headrest. Though the Reddit user’s face is cropped, her terrified eyes tell all.

“Going to be a long flight,” she captioned the photo.

The woman’s post immediately went viral, generating nearly a thousand comments by Tuesday afternoon. Some argued that the female passenger should have confronted the offender.

“I don’t get it at all. I would get up the moment I felt someone put their feet there and said something,” one person wrote. “You should never suffer in silence, never. Even as a passenger, if I had seen this, I would laugh and look at the person in the unfortunate seat and say ‘I’m glad the person behind me has manners and isn’t a complete idiot.’ because I do realize some people are afraid of confrontations.”

Others suggested that the woman should have alerted a crew member.

“Talk to a flight attendant,” one person posted. “If the plane is still at the gate then kick him/her off..disorderly conduct in a tube that is 30,000+ ft above ground is stupid… if it got worse.. the other passengers can tape him/her to the seat for the rest of the flight.”

Get ready to break out those parkas.

Temperatures in the Big Apple are expected to dip this week, bringing a bone-chilling cold front and the possibility of a light snowfall Thursday night into Friday, the latest forecasts show.

“It’s going to be a dramatic change,” AccuWeather senior meteorologist Paul Walker told The Post Monday, adding that there will be a 20-degree drop in daytime highs throughout the week and “nighttime lows are going to be a lot colder.”

Walker noted, “Thursday night is when the real cold” is predicted to strike the northeast, as a high-pressure storm system moves in from western Canada.

Meteorologists predict a high of 54 degrees for Thursday and a low of 34 with a chance of snow by the nighttime.

“There is a possibility that we could see a rain mixed in with some snow Thursday night as the front comes through,” Walker said.
